French, ca. 1870

$25,000.00Price
  • A small 3/4 size double bass made in France ca. 1870s. This bass features a spruce top with plain maple roundback, ribs, and scroll. It carries ebony fittings, an adjustable maple bridge, and a chromatic C-extension by Mario Lamarre. Overall, this bass is a great size (smaller than many French basses of the time period) and is solid with a few idiosyncrasies that make it a charming companion. This has been the main workhorse for a top-level freelancer for 30 years and it's ready to find a good home! Includes aGlenn Cronkhite bag. Consignment.
