A rare opportunity to own a piece of American history. Gene Ivey was an Alabama folk instrument icon, and made more than 270 musical instruments including fiddles currently on exhibition at the Smithsonian Institute. This violone was made in 2001, and features a spruce top, with maple back, ribs, neck, and custom carved animal scroll. Set-up was completed by John Pringle in North Carolina, including a new fingerboard and bridge. Includes a soft cover. Consignment.
